CECILIA ZIANO


Cecilia Ziano , first violin of the Lyskamm Quartet and Principal Second at the Rotterdam Philharmonish Orkest, was born in Ciriè (Turin) in 1991. She began playing at the age of four with Fabrizio Pavone at the Suzuki School and then continued her studies with Dora Schwarzberg and Adrian Pinzaru .
After graduating from the Conservatory of Turin under the guidance of C. Anderson, she continued to study with Salvatore Accardo, Bruno Giuranna and with Kolja Blacher. Among her numerous collaborations as a leader are those with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Berliner Philharmoniker. Passionate and scholar of the Baroque and classical repertoire, she teaches violin at the master classes of the Accademia di Pinerolo.

Cecilia Ziano plays a Fiorini violin (Bologna circa 1800) courtesy of the National Dutch Music Foundation. Waiting for Paganini marks her recording debut as a soloist.
 
Alessandro Stella is an Italian pianist born in Rome in 1979. Regular guest of the Project Martha Argerich, he is a founding member of the three-piano ensemble The Pianos Trio. Contemporary composers such as Carlo Boccadoro, Giya Kancheli and Valentin Silvestrov wrote or arranged important works for him, which he then performed and recorded as a world premiere.
He has received unanimous acclaim from international critics, winning numerous awards including a Melómano de oro, a 5 Diapason and a Gramophone Editor's Choice.
